Wet Vinyl Installation

Tape the piece to hold it in place. 2 1 lay the vinyl wrap on the flat sur face without removing the lining. Small vinyl lettering and decals should be installed dry. This process prevents expanding and contracting after the flooring is installed.

Some types of vinyl flooring such as plank and tile need a few days to acclimate to the temperature and humidity in your home prior to the installation. Get the surface and vinyl adhesive wet. Turn off any underfloor heating. Those who are still learning need the flexibility that wetting solutions can offer.

The dry method as its name indicates does not use fluid but rather depends on the skill of the installer to correctly position the film. Spray your surface and the bottom of the vinyl after removing the liner with water. For vinyl sheet flooring add 75ml to each edge to allow for cutting and trimming. Vinyl flooring installation typically takes between 1 2 days to complete.

Leave your vinyl flooring to acclimatise in the intended room for 24 hours. Avoid joins in wet areas to prevent water from getting underneath the vinyl. The wet method is usually recommended for the larger simple designs and any application where the application surface is recessed or embossed ie. Mix 1 or 2 drops of liquid dish soap in a spray bottle of water.
